Colza oil

Colza oil Virgino premium – is made of pure unmodified (non-GMO) colza, grown in Finland. The oil is not treated with chemicals and not heated to high temperatures. Virgino oil contains erucic acid.

Nature and fields of Finland maintained their ecological purity. Every batch of raw materials, arriving at the plant, where it is pressed, passes a serious test. This is necessary to guarantee the best quality. Oil extraction from the seeds continues throughout the year, so the oil «Virgino» is always fresh.

Cold pressed retains all the valuable properties of colza. The oil is pressed from the seeds at room temperature and by mechanical pressing. After pressing, the oil is mechanically filtered and bottled. Fatty acids, vitamins, lecithin, ubiquinone remains in the oil in its natural form. There is not added and not removed anything in the oil Virgino.

The studies, conducted at research centers and universities, have proved that colza oil is very good for health. By terms of composition of fatty acids it is superior to other cooking oils. It is in the colza oil  the fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6 are in optimal proportions.

What are the useful properties of rapeseed oil?

Vitamin complex and unique balance of fatty acids, that are included in composition of this type of vegetable oil, have an versatile beneficial impact on the human body. In Europe, colza is called a “grass of St. Barbara” for its medicinal properties, that help to heal wounds.

Colza oil containes:

  • Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant needed to repair cells, strengthens the cardiovascular, nervous and muscular system;
  • Vitamin K is necessary for the proper functioning of the circulatory system;
  • Lecithin, which regulates lipid metabolism, providing normal activity of the brain and nervous system, lowers cholesterol, improves the absorption of vitamins;
  • Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) for preserving the health of the heart and arteries;

As a result of the experiment, conducted by research company «Finn-Medi Tutkimus Oy» in cooperation with specialists from the University Hospital of Tampere, Laboratory Center and Research Institute UKK, it turned out that the use of colza oil reduces the level of “bad” cholesterol more effectively, than olive oil.

“Cold-pressed colza oil reduces the concentration of cholesterol in the blood. Even a small addition of this product in the daily diet can have a huge significance to health “- said in a study, that was conducted under the leadership of Ari Palomyaki, the chief doctor of the central hospital of the Finnish province of Tavastia Proper, and presented at the Nordic Congress of heart disease.

In the group, that used Virgino® colza oil, lecithin content in the blood increased by 26% – much higher than in the other groups. Lecithin – a mixture of various phospholipids, it is included in the normal structure of cells and stores the reserves polyunsaturated fatty acids in the body. Lecithin is involved in the change of the ctructure of cholesterol, thus cholesterol is not accumulated on the walls of blood vessels. Also, lecithin is very important for the nervous system. The above results were observed after the participants began to consume daily 15 grams of cold pressed Virgino colza oil,  instead of solid fat.
